Teagasc Kildalton College
Kildalton College is situated in the village of Piltown, Co. Kilkenny in the picturesque Suir valley. It is located on the main Waterford to Limerick road, approximately 8km from Carrick-on-Suir and 20k from Waterford city. Kildalton is the largest agricultural college in the country. It is a leading provider of training in Equine Studies, Machinery, Agriculture and Horticulture. Students attending Kildalton College get the opportunity to learn in a practical supportive environment. Our practical experience programme provides valuable work experience as part of your overall training.
Kildalton College offers Q.Q.I. Level 5 and Level 6 courses in Horsemanship Equitation and Stud Management. Application forms and course details are available from Kildalton College.
As Kildalton College is a BHS approved training and exam centre, it is not unusual for Level 6 Horsemanship students to leave with their BHSAI including Occupational First Aid and Child Protection certificates.
Students on the Stud Management course learn all key breaking skills. Their course is also very practical and includes work placement on studs such as Ballylinch. Vinesgrove and Carriganog Stud.

- 2 Outdoor arenas - 25m x 60m + 35m x 60m :
- Cross country - through woodland and pasture.
