Formed in 1974, the function of AIRE is to Approve/Accredit and promote Riding, Trekking & Facility Centres in Ireland. Approved Riding Centres are listed
and on www.gohorseridinginireland.ie
Centres are listed by County, by Activity and by Name, the location is also placed on our Map - all found in Riding Centres or from the menu at the top of the page.
AIRE offers each Approved Centre their own page displaying details of their facilities and services together with a picture. Each year the centre is visited in respect of safety of client and welfare of animal. The tack, yard, stables, arenas and paddocks are viewed in respect of good practice. Current Insurance and Safety Guidelines will be in place.
Instructor and Manager Qualifications are monitored on a yearly basis ensuring all required courses by Health & Safety and the National Children’s Act are in place. Instructors must have the minimum of BHS Stage 2 Teach or HSI Level 2 or Irish Pony Club B+ Teaching Qualifications to be approved by AIRE.
AIRE represents its members by consulting and co-operating with Horse Sport Ireland, the governing body. AIRE is represented on various HSI committees giving their members a voice for improvements, changes and new incentives. AIRE will communicate with Failte Ireland and the Department of Agriculture developing and encouraging the highest standards of quality and service in the management and operation of Horse Riding Establishments.
