Iceford stables is a family run stables that has been in operation for 5 years. The business has gone from strength to strength and has been AIRE approved in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and 2012, 2013.
Situated 3 Miles from Ballina in Co. Mayo on the Sligo Road and also 3 miles on the coast road. We are 3 miles from the picturesque holiday village of Inishcrone in Co. Sligo.
Iceford stables is the perfect choice for all your horse riding. We provide lessons from complete beginner to advanced riders (group and private lessons) we cater for all ages and abilities.
We also provide beach rides on Inishcrone beach., do you fancy a high Adrenalin, early morning canter across the golden sands of Inishcrone? suitable for experienced riders, this 2-hour ride is guaranteed to take your breath away!! This is an incredible experience that has proved very popular; we bring you to the stables the evening before to ride the horse/pony that you will take to the beach. Once you do this ride we can guarantee that it won’t be the last!!!!!. For the less experienced riders we offer 1 hour treks on the quiet tree lined roads around the stables, this is a leisurely 1 hour walk out on horseback. We also offer part time livery and /or schooling of your horse/pony we will suit your specific needs.
We provide BHS training, AIRE syllabus exams are also ran on a regular basis. Our strengths lie in the high standard of horses and ponies and the quality of instruction. As we believe that safety is the key to a good riding school all of our ponies are schooled to the highest standard before they enter the lessons. Our instructors are qualified to BHS stage 4 standard and also hold AIRE and FEI certificates they all hold current child protection, first aid and road safety certificates. Whether its fishing, walking, golf, or horse riding Ballina and Inishcrone has it all, there are a variety of hotels in both towns and we are 10 mins from both .
