Quality in Qualifications (QQI) Level 6 Therapeutic Riding Certification Programme

This course is ideal for both equestrian coaches and those with  a strong equestrian background and an interest in using

Therapeutic Riding for the physical, psycho-social and mental well being of children, teenagers and adults with a disability.

Over the 6 Modules, learners will coach riders with a broad range of disabilities under the supervision of Festina Lente Supervision

Support Staff engaging with both lesson and evaluation plans.

Learners work in groups of 4 for coaching practice throughout the course - providing a very rich  learning experience for everybody.

Guest speakers will focus on various topics including Equitation Science, Human Anatomy, Equine Anatomy, Speech Language Therapy, Supporting Riders with Challenging Behaviour and Sensory Processing Challenges, Insurance and  Marketing your Business.

Module 1      19^th – 21^st September 2022

Module 2     14^th – 16^th November 2022

Module 3      16^th -19^th January 2023

Module 4     20^th – 23^rd March 2023

Module 5     15^th – 18^th May 2023

Module 6     10^th – 12^th July 2023
