Follyfoot Riding Farm

Follyfoot Riding Farm is located 6 miles north of the beautiful Kinsale town.   We offer hourly and half hourly lessons in our outdoor arena for all levels. Our trekking is varied through the 100 acre tillage farm and we have a nice selection of steady traditional hairy Irish cobs.

We recommend booking in advance in order to avoid disappointment.  Please note children must be 5 years or older to ride.   Hats and boots supplied, also a selected range of back protectors for children.

Open all year round for lessons;              Trekking is confined to summer months;

Valley View Equestrian Centre

Small friendly, busy, family run equestrian centre, sited in North Cork in the heart of Duhallow hunting country.  Catering mostly for children, minimum age 8yrs.  We have a good selections of ponies to cater for the total beginner up to the child who wants to hunt or compete. All children are encouraged to take AIRE exams, which marks their level of competence in both riding and stable management.  The regular clients get a mix of lessons in the arena and also riding through the farm.

Clients can also see the details of up coming events, showjumping, hunter trials, fun rides, childrens hunts etc.  Ponies are available for hire for these.  Pony camps are run during July and August.

Horses and ponies are taken for breaking and schooling and sales preparation.
Ponies and horses are also available for sale. Horses for hire for Duhallow and some other local hunts.

Valley View Equestrian Centre has now got a face book page, with lots of details of upcoming events in the area and hundreds of photos of pupils/ our horses and ponies  and local hunts/ fun rides etc.

Clonlara Equestrian Centre

Clonlara Equestrian Centre is situated in the countryside of East Clare, 5 miles from Limerick city.  It is a family run riding school with a competition yard sitting on 120 acres, has top class facilities for all disciplines.

The centre hosts an international indoor arena, two outdoor arenas and a cross country course.    Lessons in all disciplines are offered - showjumping, dressage, cross country or trekking for the leisure rider through the farm.  Lessons are available in a group or as a private session.  Clonlara runs pony camps during school breaks for both advanced and beginner riders.  We host shows in Showjumping, Dressage and Crossjump at various times through the year.  We have an active riding club and provide livery, with private paddocks and access to all facilities for livery owners.  We have a therapeutic room with a mechanical horse and welcome children of special abilities.

Castlefergus Riding Stables

Castlefergus Riding Stables is owned and run by the O Brien family since 1992. We offer a service of excellence to our clients and visitors from abroad - whether a complete novice rider or a advanced rider all ages and abilities, you will have the chance to enjoy some beautiful scenery over our 100 acre farm and woodland in the heart of the historic Co.Clare. Castlefergus Stables offers many different trail rides, from 1 to 2 hours duration.  Enjoy riding past a 15th century medival castle and ringforts dating back to the Broonze age.  You will ride along the river banks of the River Rine and in the fields with the sheep and their baby lambs. All trail rides are guided by one of the O Brien family members.  You can enjoy hearing the History of the farm and surrounding area by the guide. Morgan O Brien is a qualified riding instructor I.C.E.S & B.H.S.A.I.

This is an A.I.R.E Aproved Centre.
We offer full livery for ponies and horses whereby all are turned out into fields or into our winter excercise pad and into the fields in summer.  We have a purpose built American barn with stables for hire. Special needs or diets for the horses can be arranged.

Facilities include:-
Indoor areana with jumps both coloured and working hunter fences. Outdoor areana with a rubber surface.
Acess to riding through woodlands, meadows and by the river Rine over our 100 acre scenic farm.

Clare Equestrian Centre

Horse Riding Tuition is by Marie Burke and her team of tutors.


Marie has competed with distinction on the National and International showjumping circuits. This experience, coupled with her tuition ability and track record ensures Clare Equestrian remain one of the top facilities in the country:


Lessons are available on request, either for individuals or for groups
• Regular Lessons for adults are held every Tuesday at 6pm - 9pm and Wednesday evening from 6pm to 9pm.
• Regular Lessons for Children are held every Friday evening from 4pm to 8pm and from 10am to 6pm on Saturday
• We coach people from beginner to advanced level
Horse Management Classes for Adults are run throughout the year
• We ensure that the correct horse is matched with each rider based on experience and ability
• Safety is of paramount importance to us. We are keen that people also have fun and enjoy the overall experience
Our Pony Camps for children are proving very popular. These are held at Easter, Summer and during the October school break.

Over a 3-5 day period, Intensive Morning Classes and Afternoon training gives our students an excellent advancement in skill and competitiveness
All horses used are competition standard.  Clare Equestrian is located on 70 Acres of unspoiled countryside, making it an ideal trekking venue. We offer:
• Trekking for individuals, couples, families and groups of up to 30 people
• Our treks can be varied from relaxing & easy to very challenging depending on the skill and requirements of the riders.
• Mixed capability groups can be catered for using multiple guides.
• We aim to match the horse with the riders experience and riding requirements.
• Jumping is optional on all our treks
Our guides always accompany the treks.  We are open for trekking all year round, We cater for children.
We provide pre-trekking lessons.  The safety of our riders is important to us
