‘Reading the Horse’ with Dr Helen Spence (online course)   

This course will provide more in-depth information and understanding for those that would like to better educate their eye when it comes to understanding what their horses are trying to tell them.    This course will be of interest to anyone who interacts in any way with horses, whether on a personal or professional level.  This course will provide 6 CPD points for BHS Accredited Professional Coaches.   There is a Discount of 75% available to BHS Accredited Professional Coaches. Dr Helen Spence is a clinical animal behaviourist specialising in equines, she is an ABTC registered Clinical Animal Behaviourist specialising in equines (http://www.abtcouncil.org.uk/clinical-animal-behaviourists.html) and a full member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (www.apbc.org.uk). She graduated with a BSc (Hons) Psychology from Queens University Belfast in 1999 and followed this with a doctorate on the ‘Influence of Owner Personality and Attitudes on the Behaviour and Temperament of the Domestic Horse’, also at Queens.

About the Course  We will look at what facial expression, posture and behaviour can tell us about how the horse is feeling. Each Monday I will release a new video lesson, followed on Wednesday by a video exercise for you to have a go at, with the answers released on Thursday. Questions can be emailed in by Thursday evening for a recorded Q&A session released on Sunday. Course lasts 4 weeks with access to all lessons for 90 days from the start date.

Whether you have already started training, or you are just starting your journey and looking to find out if the coaching assessments are for, this training day will provide you with essential information to successfully train towards your Stage 2 and Stage 3 Coaching assessments. You will have the opportunity to be practically involved on the day by doing some coaching, as well as to observe and discuss all aspects of the Stage 2 & Stage 3 Coaching assessment.
